About the Role

As a Product Development Manager for Rugs & Floor Coverings, you will oversee high-volume product development projects from concept and sampling through production. This hands-on role requires strong technical knowledge, merchandising skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects, vendors, and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

• Manage product development projects from concept through production handoff.
• Oversee high-volume development across multiple product lines and assortments.
• Develop various assortments across color, pattern, materials, sizing, and price points.
• Manage international factories and vendors throughout development.
• Negotiate vendor pricing, manage costing, and identify value-engineering opportunities.
• Coordinate sampling, material submissions, artwork approvals, and product revisions.
• Review samples for quality, color, construction, materials, and overall execution.
• Maintain product specifications, tech packs, BOMs, costing sheets, and development records.
• Apply technical knowledge of rug fibers, pile, backing, construction, and finishing techniques.
• Research market trends, competitor products, and retailer assortments.
• Track development calendars, sample approvals, and key milestones.
• Resolve development challenges and ensure timely approvals.

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years of experience in Product Development, Merchandising, Sourcing, or related fields.
• Home textiles or décor experience preferred, ideally in rugs, doormats, or floor coverings.
• Strong merchandising skills and an eye for color, pattern, materials, and commercial trends.
• Knowledge of sampling, costing, specifications, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience working with international factories, vendors, and suppliers.
• Ability to manage high-volume development, multiple projects, and tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop is a plus.
• Mandarin language skills preferred, but not required.
