Representing a globally established alternative asset management firm, we are proud to be leading the search for a Legal Counsel. This role will provide legal support across U.S. investment management activities, with a particular focus on funds and securities matters. This is a highly visible opportunity to join a lean global legal team, partner closely with senior leadership, and advise a sophisticated investment management business.

As the Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for:

• Providing legal support across U.S. fund and investment management activities.
\n
• Advising on securities law matters affecting the business.
\n
• Supporting legal matters relating to hedge fund and asset management activities.
\n
• Handling employment law matters as required.
\n
• Partnering closely with senior U.S. legal counsel to support the broader U.S. business.
\n
• Advising on capital markets and IPO-related matters where applicable.
\n
• Collaborating with legal colleagues internationally on cross-border and broader business matters.
\n

To be successful in this role our client is looking for a:

\n
• Lawyer with approximately 5 to 10 years of relevant experience, with flexibility for candidates whose experience strongly aligns with the role.
\n
• Strong background in securities law and funds-related legal matters, with exposure to employment law.
\n
• Experience advising an investment management, asset management, hedge fund, or similar financial services business.
\n
• Candidate currently working in-house or within a law firm practice supporting the investment management sector.
\n
• Lawyer comfortable advising business stakeholders in a fast-moving investment environment.
\n
• Professional who is comfortable operating in a highly confidential environment.
\n
• Candidate with capital markets and/or IPO experience is advantageous.
\n
